Brief Answer: It is safe and successful procedure Detailed Answer: Hello XXXXXXX I want to ask you few question before i answer your query. 1. What you want to know about arthroplasty? 2. Can you post your latest x ray to me? Bilateral knee arthroplasty is a very successful surgery. It will save your hospital time and need for two surgery as both knee are replaced in a single sitting. It will be less costly then two stage surgery. I would also suggest you to go back for metal back high flex implant. This will give you more support and better knee bending. You will be able to walk with support after one week and without support after three weeks. I also want to tell you that on the side where already one surgery is being done, it will be a difficult surgery due to scarring of soft tissue . So choose your surgeon carefully. There are some surgeon who are well experienced in revision knee surgery. Those will be able to handle this situation better. You can ask any other question regarding arthroplasty. It will be my pleasure to answer that.
