Question: For a patient presently taking 30mg Oxycodone TiD with 5mg prn, what dosage of Suboxone is indicated as a starting point? And what should the patient expect following the initial sublingual dose in terms of side effects (assuming the initial dose of Suboxone is taken 16 hours after the last dose of Oxycodone and therefore when the patient is in moderately severe withdrawal and no precipitated wd takes place?)

On first day an induction dosage of up to 8 mg /2 mg SUBOXONE sublingual film is recommended.On second day, a single daily dose of up to 16 mg/4 mg SUBOXONE sublingual film is recommended.
The recommended target dosage of SUBOXONE sublingual film during maintenance is 16 mg/4 mg buprenorphine/naloxone/day as a single daily dose.
You should start dose consulting your doctor.

More common effects which should be watched include,
Cough or hoarseness, feeling faint, dizzy, or lightheaded
Feeling of warmth or heat fever or chills
Flushing or redness of the skin, especially on the face and neck, headache
Lower back or side pain, painful or difficult urination and sweating
