Hi.. It could be a blighted ovum. REPEAT scan after a week. If fetal pole doesn't appear high chance of abortion.

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Thanks for writing..
I understand your concern..

The size of the gestational sac more than 20mm with no fetal pole indicates blighted ovum.. Since you are 7weeks with no fetal pole wait for 1 more week and repeat scan to see for fetal pole. If still there is no fetal pole it would be better to terminate the pregnancy. There is nothing much to do. D and E would be better option for complete evacuation.

Hope I have answered your query. Feel free to ask any doubts. good day.

Gestational sac is measuring 20mm. Doctor said that he can organise procedure now. I had bloods taken today and due to have more in monday. Should i wait until results are back or organise something now. What are the chances of seekng something in next scan. Scan also showed what looked like white patches in sac. Results also said a small corpus luteum on right ovary

The chance of positive result in the next scan is very less. But for satisfaction it can be tried.

Since the sac size is 20mm the decision of your doctor is appropriate. But there is no harm for waiting for a week. Corpus luteum in ovary is normal.

Hope I have answered your query. Feel free to ask any doubts. Good day.
