What Does This Semen Analysis Report Inspite Of Trying To Conceive Indicate?

Question: Hi,

We are trying to have a baby since last 1 year but no success. Done Semen test and stats are as follows:

Non Motile: 60

Doctor prescribed me for 2 months in January 2014:
1) LYCOMEGA twice a day.
2) COQ 300 - once a day
3) CARNISURE 500- Thrice a day

I am taking Tab LYCOMEGA once a day since last 6 months as prescribed by the doctor.

Latest semen test report is as given below:

All tests reports of my wife are positive and good. Any suggestions/treatment to have a baby?

Hi,

I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply:

1) Your semen report shows decreased motility probably related to decreased liquefaction time suggesting infection of semen.

2) Please get semen culture and sensitivity test done which will suggest suitable antibiotics to treat this infection and you can take the same to cure infection.

3) You can continue the medicines as prescribed by your doctor.

4) I wish to know investigations reports of you wife: HSG, Hormonal blood tests like FSH or AMH, Antral follicle count.

5) Please scan and attach all the report you have along with this query which will help me in identifying the cause of infertility.

6) I dont think your semen is the reason for infertility.

Hello Doctor,

I have uploaded all the reports of myself and my wife. Files starting with prefix "AA-" are my reports. Whereas, my wife's reports are files starting with prefix "SM_".

My tests include:
1) 3 Semen test reports conducted in last 6 months.
2) Testosterone test - free & total
3) FSH & LH test
4) Ultrasound - Testis Doppler

My wife's reports include:
1) Sonograpy of pelvis & abdomen area
2) TSH test
3) Ultrasound Pelis + Follicular study
4) Doctor prescription and suggested medicine for her in April 2014.

Kindly take a look at the reports and suggest next steps.

Your as well as your wife's report seem to be fine.

Please get hysterosalpingography ( HSG ) test for your wife to know fallopian tube patency.
