Question: We were asked by the doctor to undergo Maternal Serum Screen test. We have got the results but we would not be able to see the doctor for another week. Could you help us read the results and provide your analysis of them.

Brief Answer:
Normal report

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
I have reviewed the report.
This shows low risk for trisomy 21, trisomy 13 and trisomy 18.
So, it is a normal report and nothing to worry.
This dual marker test analyses the risk for these chromosomal conditions, and if negative , then there are 85-90% chances that these will not be present in the fetus.
It tells the risk based on serum parameters.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

my nine yr old daughter with Down Syndrome started with a rash on her neck just below the ear and forward around to the other ear - raised rash. We have had no change in soaps or anything. no fever. no new foods. Finally took her to md last Friday and was told it was Eczema and was tx hydrocortisone. She then developed a rash and sore on her genitalia to the point where she resisted going to the bathroom because it hurt - we went back on Sun - they tested for strep in the genital area - got call today that it was and an rx for amoxicllan has been called in - why would a 9 yr have a strep infection there - what kind of strep and how could she have gotten it?

Hi, my wife is undergoing 23 weeks of pregnancy. Our Dr. had ask for the Triple marker test but on the day of USG as the duration of pregnancy was 21 weeks 6 days physician said us that the time line has been over for the Test, the test would not be performed. and then Dr. suggested to go for Foetal Echo test. We have done Feotal echo and the outcome was good as per the Dr. who performed the Foetal Echo, even USG report was also fine. My question is how important for us this Triple Marker Test-what we missed? Is there any other chance in future to get the details of the information through some other test what was supposed to find out through this Triple Marker Test, like down syndrome-mental retardation, spina bifida...etc.?
