Herpes simplex virus 2 Ab 1.04

This is the other thing that came out on the same test.

Does this mean I have Herpes? Is this positive or negative?

Brief Answer:
An equivocal result calls for a repeat test to confirm the result

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.

Your value of 1.04 reads an 'equivocal result'.

Anything below 0.9 is considered negative.

Anything above 1.1 is considered positive.

And anything between 0.9 and 1.1 is considered equivocal (as is your result).

And equivocal result indicates recent exposure to the virus, but the levels have not risen to detectable amounts. So a retest is recommended in a while, and if a positive occurs then the infection is present, but if a retest reports another equivocal result, then the result is considered to be negative.

I hope I have explained things in a manner best understood by you sir. Please do not hesitate to write to me again, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
