What Does This Iron Profile Indicate?

Question: Iron Profile
IRON * 32.6 umol/L 10.6 - 28.3
T.I.B.C 50 umol/L 41 - 77
TRANSFERRIN SATURATION * 65% 20 - 55

How can I lower my Iron profile, I drink alcohol regularly 4/5 times a week. Is this an indication of liver damage?

No need to lower the iron profile.

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Your iron level is normal. Total iron binding capacity is alsi normal. Only transferin saturation percentage is slightly high.

You should go for ferritine level and repeat iron level after 1 month. Your current results does not indicate liver damage.

If your serum iron level increased then drugs like desferoxamine or defiperone is useful but right now no treatment is required.

To check liver damage you should go for liver enzymes level. It will give idea about vliver damage.
