Brief Answer:
Yes your doctor is right.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to us about it.

I can understand your concern, though.

I have proceeded through her scan reports and everything else seems to be normal mean weight and growth are according to gestational age.

The sole problem is that unilateral dilatation of the renal pelvis, which is less than 1cm and AFI is 10 which is borderline.

You should not be concerned about this scan finding ( pelvic dilatation) usually it will resolve spontaneously before or after birth of a baby.

To be safer side you should go for a repeat scan after 2 weeks to determine the progression of pelvic dilatation and AFI. if AFI is more than 10 it is consider normal otherwise chances of premature birth of baby is there.

She should drink a lot of water and sleep in left lateral position.

Pelvic dilatation is merely an isolated problem and not associated with any congenital malformation so most probably your baby will be fine after birth.

Hope it is useful, feel free to ask more.

Good luck.

Brief Answer:
Cholestasis of pregnancy.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Nice to hear from you again though.

If itching occurs all over body during pregnancy, it can be due to cholestasis of pregnancy.

She should consult her treating physician and take her liver function test to be done (serum bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT and serum alkaline phosphatase).

Kindly revert back to me with her test result.

She can take cetirizine tablet (after conferring with her treating physician) for her itching.

Udiliv is a drug used for its treatment (after test results).

Hope it is useful to some.

Good luck.

Brief Answer:
Yes, in low doses it is safe during pregnancy.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Sorry for the delay in my response.

As such no drug is safe to consume during pregnancy.

But the cetirizine tablet in low doses can be safe to practice during pregnancy.

Hence you can take it after consulting your treating doctor.

Hope it is useful, feel free to ask more.

Good luck.

Take 5 mg once daily.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Nice to hear from you again though.
