Question: cardiologist or general practitioner to look at this result.
doctor
Answered by Dr. Shuba hariprasad (29 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
General practitioner based on the report alone

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
I'm Dr. Shuba Hariprasad and will be answering your query today.

Your Echocardiogram is normal except for the trace mitral regurgitation.
This means that a very small quantity of blood flows backward when the heart pumps out blood through the rest of your body.

This is clinically insignificant at present and does not warrant any treatment.
If it were to progress to moderate to severe regurgitation in the future, you would need a valve replacement surgery.

To answer your query,
Based on this report alone, a primary care physician (PCP) consult would be enough.

If, on the other hand, you have hypertension, diabetes, or your PCP detects any clinically significant findings or factors that could affect your heart, you would additionally need a cardiologist consult as well.

Hope I've answered your query.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

Wish you well.

Regards,
Dr. Shuba Hariprasad

Brief Answer:
nothing to worry about.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
No, please do not panic, I didn't mean to worry you.

I have just explained what this means to help you understand the report better.

There is nothing to worry about. Trace mitral regurgitation is a common finding and does not indicate any disease.
The heart and its structures , like any other organ has its wear and tear. its like having wrinkles when you get older. it is not harmful yet it isn't the soft, wrinkle free skin we have at a younger age.

Hope I have reassured you.

Wish you good health
