Brief Answer:
The report is normal

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

The hematological values of infancy and early childhood are different from those of adults.
Most of the laboratories don't use the age specific reference values and usually mention the adult reference values in their reports.
In babies below 3 months of age the lymphocyte counts of 70 % is considered to be normal. Both the neutrophil and lymphocyte counts equalizes(each about 50%) by age of 6 months and the neutrophil counts exceeds lymphocytes after the age of about 4 years that is similar to adults.
Even the total leucocyte count of 20000/cmm is normal for this age unlike in adults where the upper limit is 11000/cmm.
So,I won't get worried with the report showing lymphocyte of 70 % and neutrophil 22% at 51 days of age.

I hope this helps.

Please do ask if you have any more query.
Regards

Brief Answer:
Reports is almost normal

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back

I have gone through the reports.Apart from low hemoglobin all the values are within normal limit.

Even low hemoglobin of this value is normal for age(due to physiological anemia of infancy) and no treatment is needed right now.

You can ask me further queries if you have any.

Thank you for your reply. We have taken these tests as baby is crying often and for reasons we cannot comprehend. She has milk and then cries, she gets up from sleep and cries... We were thinking whether colic is the reason behind it.

What would be the reason for her cries. Do we have to feed her anything different...

Thank you,

Brief Answer:
Most likely due to colic

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for follow up

If baby is passing urine and stool normally, accepting feeds, gaining weight, there is no fever/cough/cold/fast breathing I won't get overly worried.
Most likely this cry is due to colic. The report done is within normal limit and this rules out any bacterial infection.
You can give colic drops two to three times a day.
You are right. If baby is on formula feed I would suggest you to switch to a different formula feed as many a times this helps in relieving colic.
The other reason is gastroesophageal refux(GER).
If baby coughs after feed or in lying down position this suggests GER.
Giving domperidone and lansoprazole helps in this condition.
I hope this helps.
Please write me back if you have any more doubts.
Regards
