Question: 5 weeks ago I developed very bad pains in my lower middle part around my waist (where you would put your belt). The pain has since eased up but then it started burning for the next week and on and off. I was also having pins and needles and tingling there when the pain eased up.. From there I developed some type of stomach condition where they thought I had Hital hernia, had an endoscopy and everything was fine.. Turned out to be a bad case of Gerd which I never had before.. They also did a cardiac catherizationon me because I had chest burning.. It was fine.. I then developed lower middle back pain , sharp shooting pain and spasms.. I was given flexural and even prednisone but no relief.. So now, my back pain is not bad but I have the middle lower pelvic area pain, tingling sensations and also in my middle lower back. The tingling is also going up my back on the left hand side and even more in my lower to middle stomach.. All my problems seem to be on the left.. I seem to have a lot of gas and burp a lot, when I pass a stool it is small round hard balls which is not normal for me but there is NO pain trying to go so doctor doesn’t.. My gastro Doctor doesn’t think its colon related and saw the x-ray of my back he took and thinks it’s my back problem.. It seems like the muscles in my stomach shake at times and I also feel pounding in certain areas… I do lift weights and the last thing I did was Squats with no injury that I know of and this came on 2 days later.. Symptoms seem worse when sitting upright and my waist is bending. When I eat and food gets to the lower part I have the pain and have noise and what seems to be contractions and pain. Attached is a copy of my back xray and I do not think it is that bad to get these symptoms and don’t think it shows

Brief Answer:
Degenerative changes in the spine

Detailed Answer:
Hi there

Thanks for the query

I have read your query and understood your problem.

Your back Xray seems to have degenerative changes which is common in your age group. Physiotherapy is essential for better relief. This isn't the cause of your symptoms.

The GERD causes the burps and the abnormal stool. Do get an ultrasound abdomen to look if your gall bladder is OK.

It seems plausible that you may be having Vitamin D deficiency.

I would advise you to get a blood test for 25 hydroxy Vitamin D.

This can cause all the mentioned symptoms.

The pain and burning sensation near the thigh is called Meralgia paraesthetica. That happens due to prolonged position of the hip in flexion and due to wearing tight belt.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

thanks Doctor,I had blood work done last month and also Vitamin D was fine. No one seems to know what is going on. What tests besides an untrasound should get.. Would a Cat scan help? The pain is unbearable and it feels like my whole gut in the lower part was overinflated with air at times. What type of doctor do i see next to at least diagnose me so i can have treatment.. Its either the left middle back or the middle lower intestines or stomach muscles..

is it possible i have a pinched nerve somewhere in the back and its hurting my front pelvis abdoman area? I searached rectus abdomus and wonder if i have a problem with that or I hurt my pelvic floor working out

Brief Answer:
CT scan abdomen

Detailed Answer:
You can get a CT scan of the abdomen. This will help to rule out Inflammatory bowel disease.

Pinched nerve usually does not affect abdominal region or the front commonly.

There does not appear to be any problem with the Rectus abdominis or Pelvic floor.

There is a good chance you Hehe Inflammatory bowel disease or Irritable bowel syndrome for such a CT scan can help rule out.
