What Does This MRI Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Thu, 2 Feb 2017
Question: Need an interpretation of these results:
The visible portions of the upper cervical
cord exhibits no evidence of syringohydromyelia. There are
scattered nonspecific foci of T2 signal abnormalities involving
the subcortical and deep white matter particularly within the
right frontal lobe. Linear T2 signal abnormality extending
through the right frontal white matter may represent a
developmental venous anomaly. No cerebral edema or mass effect.
The diffusion-weighted sequence indicates no evidence for acute
infarcts. The ventricular and sulcal sizes are normal for
patient's age.

No extra-axial fluid collections are present. Normal flow-voids
are seen within the large intracranial central arteries.
Paranasal sinuses and tympanomastoid cavities are well aerated.
There is normal preservation of marrow fat signal within the
calvarium.
