Brief Answer:
A 1.5 cm cyst in left kidney lower pole is not a serious concern.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. A 1.5 cm fluid signal lesion is most likely a simple cyst in the lower pole of left kidney. Such cysts are thin walled water like fluid filled areas. There is no serious concern about it.

2. One or two cysts might be considered normal in each kidney at your age of 62 years. It is usually seen in the elderly people. However you might get a follow up ultrasound scan done after 3 months to know any growth in the size and nature of the cyst and discuss with your doctor.

3. I guess that you are following up with your doctor for cancer of prostate as recommended. HIFU is a well accepted treatment method.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
