Question: Whats your analysis of my MRI? What does this statement in a mri mean?...
What does this statement in a mri mean? There is a CSF density lesion without mass effect seen within the perventricular white matter of the right frontal lobe abutting the frontal horn right lateral ventricle
Hi, I am not sure what is going on with my brain? could you help me? recently I am having difficulty with school due to memory problems. I had two mris in the past year and both of them showed a 4 mm brain cyst which is nothing to worry about. and the experts here said to not to worry about it too. When I was in elementary school I had minor epilepsy and I had a total of two seizures in 5th grade and 8th grade. IN high school I grew out of it and didn't have any more problems. however in college I noticed I was becoming dumber and my grades were not as good as before. I have never had a brain injury or a concussion. I mean if I had a concussion I should know. Here is my mri results please give me a detailed answer. Again noted is a 4 mm well-circumscribed focus of CSF signal intensity in the right frontal periventricular white matter best appreciated on T2 image 15. This is unchanged in size. There is no associated edema or mass effect or Flair signal changes. This is most compatible with a prominent Virchow-Robin space or possibly a neurological cyst. Either way, this is benign and of no clinical clinical significance. No further imaging followup is recommended

Brief Answer:
C.S.F density lesion generally indicate cystic lesion.

Detailed Answer:
Hello

It means there is a C.S.F density lesion in white matter in right frontal lobe of brain and lesion is almost touching right frontal horn(horn is a part of lateral ventricle).
C.S.F density lesion generally indicate cystic lesion. There may be many cystic lesions in brain like arachnoid cyst, epidermoid cyst, neural cyst etc. These cysts are generally benign in nature.
It is good that that there is no mass/compression effect to surrounding structures due to cystic lesion.
Size of lesion is not mentioned in the query.
It also need clinical correlation.

Get well soon.
Hope I have answered your query.
Further queries are most welcome.
