Question: Hello Doctor,

I shall be 41years in October and trying for a 2nd child without success for about 3 months now. Had an HSG yesterday. Can you explain to me in layman terms the meaning of this HSG Report and the possibility of getting pregnant with this result,
HSG: 'BOTH TUBES ARE DEMONSTRATED WITH SUBTLE FIMBRIAL HYDRO-SALPINX AND LOCALIZED SPILL OVER.
NORMAL UTERINE CAVITY DEMONSTRATED.
IMPRESSION: PATENCY WITH LOCALIZED SPILLAGE SEEN. NORMAL UTERINE CAVITY'.

There are also XRAYs from the HSG , let me know if you would like to see these personally.

And if there is a problem with my HSG result, what treatment do you advise for a quick conception as time is not on my side.

Brief Answer:
IVF is better option

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns.

Your HSG report says both fallopian tubes are unhealthy and not good for conceiving naturally.

I suggest you undergo IVF treatment which is better option for pregnancy soon.

Let me know if you need anymore help.

Brief Answer:
Details Explained

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Hydrosalpinx means enlargement of fallopian tubes which makes the tubes filled with pus and infection.

Though there is spillage of XXXXXXX it is locally indicating adhesions and and unhealthy tubes.

Fimbrial end is last portion of fallopian tube.

The reason for this could be due to infection of fallopian tubes by organisms like tuberculosis or chlamydia etc....

You can undergo Laparoscopic test as alternative to know the detailed cause of this and removal if necessary.
