What Does This CT Scan Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Tue, 23 Aug 2016
Question: Hello

I've had a few scans and MRIs recently and my doctor found a diverticulum on the chest CT scan I made on 2016.

Could you please check my head MRI 2012, chest CT Scans 2014 and 2016 and neck CT scan 2016 for any abnormal findings? I suffer from upper airway wheeze and phlegm on my upper trachea below or around the vocal chords and back/neck pain.

Here is shared folder on MediaFire with CD images of the scans I have received. These images can be extracted using 7Zip, WinZIP, WinRAR
Here it is: "https://www.mediafire.com/folder/3nah52hac619l/XXXX"

There's a MRI of my head in 2012 located on folder "Resonancia Cabeza 2012"
2 neck CT scans of 2014 and 2015, folders "TAC Torax 2014" and "TAC Torax 2016" (on this one the diverticulum was found, but I suppose it's probably on the 2014's as well. Could you please check?)
Neck CT scan with contrast located on "TAC Cuello 2016"

Hello

I am really sorry about you not being able to see the files. I will discuss this with the HCM team and see if we can find a better way. Maybe I can just make them self extracting and that should be completely easy for you to see.

I really appreciate your efforts. I will try to find a way you can see them

Again, thank you for your patience and effort

I appreciate your positive attitude.
Your reply relaxed me. I was so tensed because my patient was not benefitted by me.
But your words ease my nerves.
And yes, extracting is a great option.
Or open the file on your computer or laptop. Take picture from your phone or camera of important laptop images and send they separately.
This will work mostly.
Again sorry for all the inconvenience. And a big thank you for understanding.
I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

Please, don't think like that. I appreciate your efforts. I will try to fix these things and send instructions or a format you can use to visualize the images.

I noticed the disc software lets me extract the images so that should be ok. Althought I would preffer you to be able to access the diagnostic software entirely as you might benefit from further analysis features.

Again. Thanks and I will try to solve this as soon as possible.

Hello

Please try this link:
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/akrb2u8rx3z0w/Zipped

I zipped each of the scans on ZIP format. You can use WinRAR, WinZIP or 7ZIp to open them. Also Windows allows you to extract the files to a folder as well.

Also, there's a folder called "Images" inside of each zip file which contains all the images from the series. (Brain MRI doesn't contain this folder because the viewer doesn't let me export full series images)

However I recommend you to use the included viewer since it will allow you to inspect the images closely.
Usually the files you should open are "RunViewer.bat", "run.bat" or "Lite.exe"

It's possible that you might have issues seeing the "Brain MRI" one. I had to update the viewer Philips Dicom had issues on recent versions of Windows. Please let me know if this is the case.

If you're not able to download or extract the files please don't waste your time trying. I will make a set of instructions for you and self extracting files that will make everything easy.

Thanks

Hello

Wow, that was fast, all of them?. There is no rush. I have been told I have a XXXXXXX Jamieson diverticulum that was never found on barium swallows and esophagoscopy. So it's really strange and would like to know if you can see it and find any abnormality on neck, throat, trachea and upper chest. As there is where I have all symptoms.
The diverticulum was found on chest ct 2016. could you confirm if it's possible to see it on the previous scans as well?

You mentioned there is no serious abnormality in it. Any minor one?

Thanks!!

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Sorry my friend, I have seen them again and don't find any major abnormality.
Well, I don't think you are having XXXXXXX Jamieson Diverticulum.
Upper GI scopy is the best thing for diagnosis.
And your upper GI scopy is normal so no need to worry for this.
Please let me know
1. When did you done esophagoscopy and barium swallow?
Please reply me answer of above asked question, so that I can guide you better. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

neither on chest ct scan 2016? hmm... they said it was on the right side. what about the neck scan? nothing either?

first barium swallow watched only the throat and it was in 2014.
Second barium swallow watched all as far as i know and it was in March 2016, a pseudo diverticulum at t1 level was found.
Esophagogastroscopy was done in March 2016. Only an irregular z line was found. The pseudo diverticulum from the second barium swallow was not found.

Thanks

please take your time as I would really appreciate if you could study them. there is no rush but would like to know everything you can find

Mostly phlegm in the throat, upper airway wheezing and difficulty swallowing. however reflux and asthma have been ruled out.

I explained this to dr Chakrandant who helped me as well and since my scan got positive on the diverticulum I wanted a radiologist to confirm.

at the moment I am taking amitryptiline, gabapentin, both for laryngeal sensory neuropathy and montelukast for allergy. had this since 2010

Thanks
