Question: MY DR WANTS TO ORDER A NUCLEAR STRESS TEST. TREADMILL STRESS TEST RESULTS WERE HEART NOT ACCOMMODATING BETWEEN BEATS. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

You are wondering why you need a nuclear stress test after taking a routine stress test. you mention that the results of the regular stress test were not accommodating between beats. I am not sure exactly what that means. It may mean that the reading of the EKG did show some irregular changes to the EKG but were not conclusive. This is frequently seen on stress tests and why we need more data to diagnose heart disease. A stress test is actually a screening tool to help decide if there is angina or heart disease and in which direction to go after the test. A nuclear stress test will actually take images of your heart after exercise to visual any areas that may show lack off oxygen.
