What Does The Following Sonography Report Indicate?
Question: Hi doc,
My wife not sure abt her last exact period date but she was sure its on july ,2015 .
As per the sonography report impression mentioned as single live intrauterine gestation of average maturity of 6 weeks 2 days , CRL 5.5 mms , cervical length is 3.2 cm and ADV : nuchal translucency scan at 12 weeks .
We planning to abort the child bcous of our personal reason . Is it good option to follow the medication abortion or not ? And need suggestion about success rate

In XXXXXXX according to government rules it can be done within 63 day / 9 weeks of gestation. It is so because after that there are other complications of aborting with medicines.
As your USG report says it is 6 weeks 2 days it will be safe to do abortion with medications.
Success rate is about 95-97% so it is very high.
But it will be highly advisable to take the medications after consulting a gynecologist and preferably to take the tablet in the clinic.

USG reports are very much precise and trustworthy. They will be havin +-1 week here and there. Still you have 3 weeks margin to be on safer side. And as you told your wife last period must be in july ending it comes to almost same gestational age of approximately 6 weeks.
So it is absolutely ok for you people to go ahead with the decision.
As I told you 95-97% success rate is there. Remaining 2-3% may retain some products inside called as incomplete abortion where there is continued bleeding occuring because uterus thinks that foetus is still there but in actual there is some remaining part still attached to wall but no foetus. In this condition patient requires dilatation and curretage which is again a 1 day procedure where they will scrape the uterus from inside for whatever remnants are remaining. It has 100% results.
So do not be worried of it. Consult a gynecologist as i told you in previous answer.

Currently she was not having any medical issue .. But After abortion little bit scared for any side effects ..

After she takes the tablet it will take 24 to 48hrs to abort. She will bleed as like her normal periods for 4 to 5 days. And after that next cycle will start normally.
There as no side effects or complications in future. Only complication can be incomplete abortion as i have mentioned in previous answer for which dilatation and curretage is the final solution which will be required in 2-3% patients.
There is no dietary advice. She can take normally whatever diet she is being taking from before.
Do not worry about side effects, it will just like any regular period for her.
