What Does The Following ECG Stress Test Result Indicate?
Question: Hi, I recently had an ECG stress test with the following results: right atrial enlargement, right ventricular hypertrophy, ST elevation, premature ventricular contraction, right bundle branch block and multiple suspect myocardial infarctions. I was very surprised to see all this because I am a healthy person. I exercise regularly, eat healthy, 5'3" and 120 lbs. Blood pressure is normal. I am a 23 year old female. I have never smoked and do not drink alcohol. I have no family history of heart problems. Also I have noticed that sometimes my heartbeats feel like it skips and then beats harder on the next beat and makes me have to cough. I do not know if there was an underlying condition that caused this or if it was a result of intense exercise (which I have a history of). I would greatly appreciate any insight you can provide. I look forward to your response.

So just for future reference, what is the reliability or accuracy of the generated response from tests like stress test. What is the sensitivity and specificity? If there was a problem when should I be concerned with a reading from the ECG?

I just wonder why did you undergo stress test if you have no complaints besides skipped beats.
On your ECG, for right atrial enlargement and right ventricular hypertrophy, ECG has low specificity, so if we suspect something in our patients we perform an echocardiography. But if you have no complaints at all, don't worry, there is no need.
For skipped beats, which are premature heart contractions, if they bother you, the best test is holter monitoring. It is an examination, when 24 hour ECG is registered. If you have 200 or less premature contractions during examination, then there is nothing to worry and no need for treatment.
