What Does The Following ECG Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Thu, 8 Jun 2017
Question: Hello,
I'm 27yo male and have been diagnosed with pericarditis 2 weeks ago. My cardiologist did echocardiogram (detected 50% left ventricular ejection rate) and MRI (including stress test with tracer fluid) which didn't show any problems. I did blood tests 2 days ago which did not show elevated troponin levels. I was taking ibuprofen for pericardytis but I have stopped today. Currently I feel nauseous and have chest pains and got an ECG done (GP did not find anything suspicious). Can you look at it to see whether it looks normal: https://goo.gl/photos/LnjKKXhtbQaJz4v67 (especially the top line with a lot of wigliness, what are those?). This is full ECG for completeness: https://goo.gl/photos/9oeZV5s6KnfwNV8j6

Brief Answer:
It's normal ecg except one vpc in upper tracing which is acceptable

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through the report. It's a normal ecg except one ventricular premature complexe in the last in above tracing which is acceptable and not a matter of worry. That wigliness is artefact and not an abnormal finding.
Nausea and may be chest pain ( if not increased by deep breathing) is likely due to gastritis and reflux induced by ibuprofen. So you should have some antacid like syr gelusil or sucral O two teaspoon three times a day and tab Ranitidine 150 mg twice a day for 3-4 days. Avoid spicy food.
Hope this helps you and get back if you have any doubts.
