What Does The Following CT Scan Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Thu, 22 Jun 2017
Question: I had a ct scan to follow up on lung nodule which came back no change after 12 years and most likely from previous infection or inflammation.

That was good news. However scan showed some lung hyperinflation and bronchial thickening. No emphysema noted and no bronchiost.

I had asthma when I was young and am 64 years old. No symptoms. I exercise regularly with no issues.

Is this something I need to be concerned about?

Brief Answer:
Do a Spirometry test

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking in HCM

I can understand your concern

I congratulate you for the CT result. It is really a good news for your health

Now for the hyperinflation and bronchial thickening you should not worried so much.

I recommend you for this to perform a Spirometry test with bronchodilatator (albuterol).
This test will show if it will be a bronchoconstriction of the airways.

If the result is negative than nothing to do

If positive you probably will take an inhaler for a month (depending on the result) and repeat the Spirometry after 3 months.

Discuss with your doctor for the above

Nevertheless you do not have to worry, nothing serious
