Question: After steroid injection I have a swollen lump in my butt, it is hot to touch but not red and only sore when I poke it. I've also had a fever yesterday and today... I would assume infection but I only injected before bed on Tuesday night... It's now only Thursday? Can you help?

Brief Answer:
Infected lump is the most probable reason.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Can you please attach a photo of it? It would be much easier to give precise answer.
Infection usually develop in such short time. So there is nothing unusual in that.
Symptoms are also quite characteristic for an infected lump. It is also possible that you have injured some vein what has caused hematoma. This can give similar to yours symptoms.
The best you can do is to consult general surgeon. In case of lump filled with pus or blood it should be incised and drained. Antibiotic should be considered.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
Its infected for sure.

Detailed Answer:
This looks like an infection for sure. And it seems that small incision is neccesary to evacuate pus. In case of doubts ultrasound can be done. General surgeon is a good option. You can go to ER if no surgeon available today.
