What Does Swelling On The Arm Post Injury Indicate?
Question: I cut myself with a knife and am recovering now they have taken off the staples i cut an artery as well which got stitchs on the inside but the swelling has not gone down all the way how long does it usually take

Thanks for your feedback and very clear and focused photos.
The photographs are suggestive of either a hematoma/seroma or an edema.
This can be diagnosed by high resolution ultrasonography and putting a needle in for aspiration if blood or serum is present.
If this is an edema, no aspiration is done.
Since the cut was on 4th Oct it is 10th post-op day and there can be an edema or hematoma/seroma.
This may take one to three weeks for good settlement.
If there is hematoma/seroma, its aspiration can helps further.
