What Does Stomach Pain With Constipation Indicate?

default
Posted on Tue, 16 Jun 2015
Question: On May 13th, I began to have stomach pain mostly centered, the pain kept me up most of the night. Next day I was weak and spent most of the day sleeping in a recliner. The pain lessened and my thoughts turned towards constipation, took a otc laxative that worked although I did have a large bout of sweating. For the next several days I had no appetite and was generally lethargic. I will on occasion run a low grade fever the I have controlled with ibuprofen. Whenever the fever breaks sweating is almost always present. The sweating has occurred at night on 2 or 3 times. I will admit that I always feel a lot better after the sweating bouts. Went for a week with no bowl movement and pain returned to the stomach, once again took a laxative and the pain went away. Concern that I still have bouts of a low grade fever.

Brief Answer:
You need a simple blood test. Everything else considered, you're OK.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Jcglover,

There is an explanation for all the problems your are facing. It is obvious that there is an infection, due to which you have paroxysms of sweat and fever. I would certainly suggest that you really need to get your blood tested. This will reveal the source of the infection, once this is clear, consider your problem 100% solved, because you will simply have to take pills to counter it. I would suggest liquid paraffin for the motions. This is the gentlest and the best laxative.

I urge you to kindly do the blood test. We can take it from that point onwards.

Best wishes,
Dr. Neel Kudchadkar
