Posted on Tue, 13 May 2014
Question: My daughter having 9 years and 9 months has TSH >100, FREE T4 2.15 and ANTI TPO ANTIBODY 236.2 in her thyroid test. Is that hypothyroid or hyperthyroid? Doctor prescribed her to take 50mg Thyronorm. How do you evaluate? Is there anything to worry?

Brief Answer: Hypothyroidism Detailed Answer: Hi, Welcome to healthcaremagic. Your daughters report is showing raised TSH and raised TPO ANTIBODY. This indicates hypothyroidism.Since antibodies are raised cause is autoimmune hypothyroidism. Treatment started to her in the form of thyronorm is correct. We repeat thyroid function test every 3 months and adjust dose of thyronorm accordingly. Normally autoimmune cases require treatment for 2-3 years.Once TSH level returns to normal all effects caused by hypothyroidism will resolve. Hope I solved your query. Happy to help you Regards,

Brief Answer: She has ability to reach upto 150cms and above... Detailed Answer: Thanks for review. Her height is currently between 5 and 10 centile for her age. Her future predicted height falls in line with genetically determined height (148-165 cms). According to current height she has ability to reach upto 150cms.
