Brief Answer:
Please upload the image of the discolouration

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam.

I understand your query and concern.

This MCAS in your case seems to be primary form in nature.

Currently it seems to be a mild expression of Systemic mastocytosis, but it needs confirmation.

Before commenting on the treatment aspects and the course of the disease, I request you to upload the Dermographism image which you are referring along with the colour of the hand.

Currently the image is not visible to me.

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Systemic mastocytosis, an allergic reaction....

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam.

I understand your concern.

I have gone through your uploaded image.

You seem to have this discoloration which seems significant.

This form of systemic mastocytosis is due to generalised hypersensitivity immune reactions.

Drugs like Corticosteroids and leukotriene antagonists form the mainstay of treatment.

I also recommend you to get a complete ANA profile due to high association of autoimmune diseases.

Post your further queries if any.

Thank you.

I am already on all those meds. already know what I have - mcas, etc-what I want to know is if I need to go in be seen, is this dangerous? or not?

if nuisance issue I will just wait until I really need to go to clinic etc. as I go to see doctors way too much.

so, is this dangerous or just some transient stuff?

thanks

Brief Answer:
Maintain Vital Parameters within normal range

Detailed Answer:
Hi Madam,

I understand your concern.

As long as the symptoms get restricted to skin and asthma, you need not worry much.

You need keep track of the functional status of your heart and monitor the values of Blood pressure and heart rate.

As long as the vital cardio respiratory functions are within the normal limits, you can be rest assured by continuing the same prescribed medications.

Have a regular follow ups with your chest physician and cardiologist.

Thank you.

thank you:) that's great. sent to rheumatologist now.
so far I have an ophthalmologist , rx for eyes, pulmonologist, family practice doc I never see anymore. immunologist, dermatologist, allergist, gastroenterologist.
getting really expensive even with a PPO.

I don't have a cardiologist. had EKG 5 or so years ago. no body looks at my heart. do I need one ? I have had over 20 doctor visits in past year. just getting way to expensive. go when I have to which is all the time, so I really appreciate this service. thanks! just asthma and skin , no other systemic stuff with purple hands .

will wait see rheum after new year.

Brief Answer:
Have a screening ECHO.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam.

Good to have to you back.

Its important to get one screening ECHO of the heart before making yourself a way for the cardiologist.

If the echo is normal, you can delay the visit to your cardiologist.

But the rheumatologist consultation is must, of course you can see him after the new year.

Maintain the intake of asthmatic medicines regularly.

Post your further queries, if any.

Thank you.
