Question: WHAT CAUSE BLOOD IN YOUR SALIVA WHEN YOU WAKE IN THE MORNING I WOULD WASH OUT MY MOUTH WITH WATER A FEW TIMES AN THEN IT WOULD STOP THIS HAPPEN EVERY MORNING WHEN I WAKE UP I DON'T SMOKE DO DRUGS OR DRINK ALCOHOL WHAT CAN I TRY OR DO OR WHAT IS CAUSING IT

1. Blood tinged saliva is very common, especially after a cold or sore throat. It may also be due to dental (teeth and gum) problems, hence a dental check is recommended.

2. Dryness in the mouth and throat due to mouth breathing or snoring at night may be a cause.

3. Lymphoid hypertrophy, acid reflux in the throat can also be a cause. Get a check-up done.

4. Vitamin C deficiency and other nutritional deficiencies can also lead to this.
