Question: Hello Doctor,
Since nearly 2 months i am having just vomiting sensation. I took all kind of acidity tablets, but its not at all curing. Out of those 2 month i vomited only twice but i feel nausea all the time. Because of it now i am not able to eat any curries or food much. if i get the smell i feel vomiting sensation. My weight also reduced a little (1 kg). also, night time in my right side specifically in right leg i get tiredness feeling and not able to sleep properly.
Finally, i consulted general physician in my company he told me to do some test and in the scanning report showed mild fluid in stomach and he given some infection tablet and there is no symptom of jaundice all other tests looks fine. I took those tablet for a week and during that time vomiting sensation stopped. After finishing the course, again same symptom started.
And he told me to consult Gastro. Before consulting any gastro just thought to ask your advise on this. What might be the cause for this.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.
Have gone through your details and i appreciate your concerns.
See after going through your history i dont think its gastritis or GERD.
I feel that you need to be investigated on lines of Gastroparesis. It is a condition that affects the stomach muscles and prevents proper stomach emptying. As per the history given by you even smell of good makes you to vomit-This is seen commonly in patients of Gastroparesis.
It's not always clear what leads to gastroparesis. But in many cases, gastroparesis is believed to be caused by damage to a nerve that controls the stomach muscles (vagus nerve). The vagus nerve helps manage the complex processes in your digestive tract, including signaling the muscles in your stomach to contract and push food into the small intestine. A damaged vagus nerve can't send signals normally to your stomach muscles. This may cause food to remain in your stomach longer, rather than move normally into your small intestine to be digested.
As muscular moment is effected in this problem,Stomach is always full and patient has nausea.

The most common method for diagnosing gastroparesis is a nuclear medicine test called a gastric emptying study, which measures the emptying of food from the stomach.

The antro-duodenal motility study is a study that can be considered experimental and is reserved for selected patients. An antro-duodenal motility study measures the pressure that is generated by the contractions of the muscles of the stomach and intestine.

Please discuss this with your Gastroenterologist and inform me what he/she thinks.

Thanks!
