What Does Painless Bleeding After Bowel Movement Indicate?
Question: bright red blood periodically that is not in the stool but appears in the toilet bowel. No pain or discomfort. I have had two colonoscopy that were completely normal. Not due for another one for 8 years at least.

IN the given situation, You seems to be having-Hemorrhoids / and or Preianal Skin Tab(Sentinel Piles),which could bleed like this.
If its with pain while defecation,while passage of hard stools, this cold be from-Fissure in ano-which is Anal Ulceration,with skin tag(also called as-sentinel piles)
As your both the Colonoscopies are normal-You need not worry about other causes like Cancer/ Polyposis Coli-being cause for this bleeding.
Besides this,your GI doctor has told you that you may bleeding,which goes by any of the above possibilities.
As no other information about your complaints and health issues is available,these are the possibilities on available information.
Other causes need to be ruled out after Consults with General Surgeon and or with Gynec doctor -as need be.
Further suggestions would need more information and details.
Do's Suggested-
Get Proctoscopy and anal examination with General Surgeon,and take his second opinion on what your GI doctor has said.
