default
Posted on Thu, 9 Nov 2017
Question: My daughter who is 18 and lives on her own called me this am saying that she had pain all the way down her back and into her chest. Says it is excruciating and she can't drive. She had strep in XXXXXXX Cleared up we thought but on and off thyroid swelling and previous ultrasound I ndicated nodules. History of ear infections and multiple surgeries on the ear with throat swelling. I can't get her to agree to ER visit. How worried should I be? I no longer have rights to make her go. She does have history of anxiety and teen depression and past drug use. Please advise. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Back muscles spasm with thyroid nodules

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare Magic and thanks for putting up the query
The back pain is probably due to back muscles spasm. If thyroid nodule is benign on ultrasound and fnac and thyroid function test is normal, nothing is to be done.
Take tablet diclofenac plus chlorzoxazone twice daily and calcium supplements.
Do hot fomentation.
Any throat irritation?
Any ear discharge?
Any hearing difficulty?
All the medicine prescribed by me will be available only on prescription.
Follow up with the required information so that I can suggest you better.
Take care
Thanks and regards
