Question: Hi,

I have done lipid profile test. but result are not satisfactory. I was full disappointed after seeing my lipid profile result.

the result as below

Triglycerides :177mg/DL
Method : GPO-POD
Total Cholesterol :142
Method :(CHO-POD) IDMS (Traceable)
LDL Cholesterol: 81

Method: Calculation / Direct CHE-CHO
HDL Cholesterol :26
Method : Enzymatic Immunoinhibition
VLDL : 35
Method: Calculation
Total Cholesterol/HDL Cholesterol Ratio :5.46
LDL Cholesterol/HDL Cholesterol Ratio:3.10
Could please help what i need to do in order to maintain normal result

Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
Hi, I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.

You have deranged lipid profile with such level of derangement, treatment with medicines is not required.

You should also get your blood sugar and thyroid profile done in case it has not been done yet.

I would advise you to:

1.Reduce your weight. Do jogging, yoga, exercises..

2.Avoid Fatty food in diet.

3.To consume potato, rice, oil, ghee, sweets, carbonated beverages in moderated amount only.

4. Avoid alcohol and smoking in case you do.

Get your lipid profile repeated after 3 months and write back to me with reports.
