Brief Answer:
Rule out chronic illness,& psychological problems first

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mdm,

I understand your concern.
Before running into final conclusions, there are a few more details I need to have regarding the health problems your father is facing:
- does he suffer from any chronic illness?
- any meds used recently on regular basis?
- any test run so far?

At his age, the most probable cause are due to chronic illness,(aggravating), psychological problems, and malignancies.

The very first thing to do is a good physical and psychological evaluation.
Next, can run further tests to rule out malignancies.

Looking forward to have the requested information in.
Dr.Albana
