On Day 16 scan reported as collapsing follicle-16x10mm size, endometrium 9mm, FF++ is fluid in pod. our intercourse days are day15. Still there is chance of being conceived? Can a egg reduce its size from 26mm to 16mm after collapsing??

Brief Answer:
ovum has been released and its a ruptured follicle.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to hcm,
The follicle has ruptured and ovum has been released already by day 15 as confirmed by free fluid in the POD, so you must continue sex daily hence and multiple times to increase your chances of conception. Ideally the life of ovum is 24 hrs before it starts disintegrating and the chances of conception even in natural intercourse cycle still remains 35-40%, so there are chances that you may get pregnant but for sure ovum has been released and you are highly fertile as of now.

Thanks Doc,
the exact day of egg released is day 16 as per reports?? Can I mark my ovulation day as Day 16 after LMP? and currently the sperm living in my uterus can make this thing done? there is any probability for conception by having intercourse on before the day of ovulation instead after? Can a egg reduce its size from 26mm to 16x14mm after collapsing?? is this a healthy egg??

Detailed Answer:
Firstly its a follicle that has ruptured and not the egg. Egg is contained in the follicle and once it ruptures and releases the egg towards the fimbriae, its size is bound to reduce as it collapses as seen on the follow up USG of day 16, 2 days post the previous follicular scan.
Chances are that the sperm was released between day 15-16 and his sperms were present at that time in your reproductive tract and hence there are chances of conception. The quality of the egg cannot be determined with the follicular size.
