Question: Is my echocardiogram that I have attached considered a potential problem? the mild mitral valve regurgitation part?

Brief Answer:
I would explain as follows:

Detailed Answer:

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, after reviewing your uploaded echo reports, I would like to explain that both of them confirm mild mitral regurgitation, not moderate.

Based on these reports, it doesn't seem to be any serious disorders, as not rarely a mild mitral regurgitation is found in normal healthy individuals.

Also your left atrium is considered within normal range; so again, the actual mitral regurgitation (mild) doesn't seem to have caused any serious adverse effects on atrial structure. So, it couldn't be the reason for your SVT.

The most rationale approach on such a case, is a yearly echo follow up, to quantify any potential mitral regurgitation changes over time.

So, actually your cardiac valve status is considered no problematic.

And you don't have to worry about!

If you have a new echocardiogram report, feel free to upload for a direct review.

Meanwhile, relax, as nothing dangerous is going to happen wit hyour heart!

Hope to have been helpful to you!

King regards,

Dr. Iliri

Hello. My normal heart rate is about 100 - 120 bpm. I had palpitations occasionally but I never went to see the doctor as I thought it was normal although they usually lasted from 5 to 10 minutes. Last year when I was 24 weeks pregnant, I had a heart palpitation (while I was resting) and my heart rate went up to 240 bpm. It was only after I got injected with adenosine (35mins later) did my heart rate went down to 120bpm. The doctors diagnosed me with an SVT. Due to that, I requested to deliver my baby through C-section. This year, I'm pregnant again and I still go for my scheduled appointments every few months with the cardiologist. Only now he does not think it sounds like I have SVT. This year I will deliver my baby normally but I'm still quite worried about my heart. My question is, if I don't have SVT, what kind of heart condition do I have? I still have palpitations sometimes, my heart rate is never below 100bpm, I always feel fatigued and chest pain and short of breath. Thank you.

Hi. I went thru many years of SVT and had a successful ablation done three years ago. My 9 year old daughter has had several episodes of being breathless and somewhat of a more rapid heart rate. What are symptoms of SVT in children and is likely that she has it as well, being there is a family history of it.
