What Does My Duration Report Indicate?
Question: XXXXXXX a couple of years back I had sex with someone, protection was used but I saw a little tear after, I was concerned as the person I had sex with thought it was funny to tell me he had the worst thing, then later said he didn't. I later started to get spots, pimples on my bum which were red and not itchy,but would come and go in different areas of my bum. I didn't get tested until 7 months later. I had the rapid test and a blood test on the same day and both came back negative. Since then I have been worried, did I wait long enough to get tested as the window period can be longer in some people. About 6 months to a year on I developed lumps, spots on my scalp. Very small but as I got anxious I scratched and they became bigger and would bleed, they were not itchy. Also I got a lump on my neck just behind ear which is under the skin it feels smaller than a pea and is hard. I don't know why I have these spots. After almost 2 years I still have the spots on my bum,i have tried steroid cream but nothing is making them go. The spots on my head are around 6. What does this sound like to you. I have been stressed past year, worrying about this and I have smear which I had abnormal cells and a polyp on the cervix which I'm awaiting an appointment.

As you got tested after seven months of exposure your test is fine. So you can declare your self as HIV negative.
Window period is long in one in million. So you can't count your self in rare people without obvious reason.
Your pimples are not because of HIV. If it is because of HIV then it will remain as such. It will not come and go on its own.
Please do not use steroid cream on the bumps. As it can initially heals the bump but can recur thereafter.
For bump on neck I advice you to take its biopsy. Once the biopsy report available you can manage the things as per the reports.
Abnormal cells and polyp is because HPV infection. Periodically check your abnormal cells in smears, it will gives you idea regarding possible malignancy. You should take the treatment for HPV. HPV can also be seen in HIV negative person also.

Thanks for your that. I sent a picture also not sure if you received. The spots on the bum came not long after having sex. And have never gone. The sex was around two years ago now, and as I said I got tested 7 months after. I was also worried that factors like low immune would stop the antibodies from being detected or maybe my body had too much going on. It's only the last 6 months that I have noticed afew spots on my scalp. I read that spots on your scalp or dermatitis can be linked to hiv. The lump on my neck came recently. I find it strange that the spots on my bum wont go. Thank you

I have seen your uploaded image.
Image is not looks like a HIV related skin infection. It looks like ordinary pimples. HIV related skin infection can be very severe and never looks like simple bumps. You can apply antibiotics ointment on the pimple under your doctors guidance.
Usually antibodies can be produced after six month of infection. It only won't occurs in person who has low immunity. I am not suspecting low immunity in your case. If you are having lq immunity than you should be having lots of other infections as well. So in my point of view your HIV test are correct.
Even if you are fearing with the situation, I advice you to take HIV PCR test done. This test will give you a confirm diagnosis. And will allay all your fear.
Yes dermatitis can be linked with the HIV but not always the patient who do not have HIV can also have dermatitis. Dermatitis can be examine for its nature e.g. allergy, bacterial or fungal and accordingly treatment can be taken.
Neck on your bump should be examined by FNAC examination, there after the management can be decided.
I advice you to take the appropriate treatment for the bump on bum, scalp and dermatitis. I find it not related to HIV.
Please maintain good hygiene as it is equally important as taking a treatment.
