What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?

Question: I am taking chantex to stop smoking for back surgery . I had to take a blood test to prove I quit before my insurance will cover the surgery . I have been s smoke free for 6 weeks but when I took the text I still tested positive. The nurse who does scheduler told me I would have to stop taking the chantex and not smoke for 6 weeks to pass the test. I reAlly want this to last long term and don't think I a m ready to quite the chantex as I might fail but I desperately need the surgery asap. Is this always the case with chantex it gives you a positive reading?
Brief Answer:
It does not make you get a positive reading
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Chantix (varenicline) does not make you get positive results. But it takes time for the chemicals to get completely washed out from your blood stream. This medicine merely prevents you from getting withdrawal symptoms and should have no relation with the blood levels.
