Question: My fiance, living in Ecuador, noticed a bump on the side of her head about 3 weeks ago. Hard and painless. She went to the ER and received an xray.
This is the translated report from the radiologist:
"The left parietal region is explored observing:
Below the plane of the subcutaneous cellular tissue and in front of the external table, a well-defined hypoechogenic image of regular borders, avascular, is measured 2.1cm x 2.1cm x 0.5cm findings suggest as the first possibility lipoma at this level.
He does not observe other collections or focal lesions occupying this space.
Does not observe free liquid."

Now she says the bump is moving closer to her face, out of her hairline.

Xrays can be seen here:

She is 45. Has a history of Stage 3C ovarian cancer, treated with chemo, radiation and hysterectomy 18 months ago so she is obviously concerned.

Brief Answer:
It could be Lipoma.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I saw the pictures in detail.
As per the Ultrasound and report,it is Lipoma.
Lipoma is a universal tumour which can occur anywhere in the body.
I prefer to do an FNAC(Fine needle aspiration cytology)of the swelling for accurate diagnosis.
If Lipoma is confirmed,i will remove the swelling surgically as there is no medical treatment for it.
Nothing to worry. It is not Cancer.
Hope i answered your query. If you have any questions,i will clarify further.
Wish her good health.
Regards

Thank you for your answer. My only other question is, she said it seems to have grown to about 3cm over the course of 2 weeks. Does that still fit the diagnosis?

Brief Answer:
Lipoma has to be considered first.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Lipoma can grow upto 3cms in 2weeks.
But,FNAC will give accurate diagnosis.
It's better to get FNAC before surgery.

hi Iam about to undergo tahbso in a week, is it normal to hesitate, im still 41 y.o. and i had ruptured ovarian cyst last year the day prior to my laparoscopic cystectomy, but 3 weeks ago i did not know it came back until i had sudden sharp pain in my lower abdomen and rapidly radiate to my back, at that time they suspect ruptured ovarian cyst again and ultrasound came back i have bilateral ovarian cyst again, the right side is bigger with a solid form in it, though the size reduced after repeat ultrasound because when i told my doctor that i still have mild pain but intermittent, i have pain during sex, prolong setting and constant setting and sudden standing causes discomfort, i feel like something pushing out in my vagina, i have constipation and even if i take stool softener on a small portion comes out, but the lower back pain is constant though i have lower back pain already due to back injury and i just associate the pain to that. the size of my cyst 1st ultrasound was (r) 5.8cm complex w/ 3.1 solid form inside, (l) 4.1cm, 2nd ultrasound size is (r) 3.8x4.0x3.7cm w/ solid component (l) 3.7x4.2x4.1 hemorrhagic. do i have to undergo surgery next week or wait more, is it necessary to undergo tahbso for me? please help i need advice

Hi I had a hystrectomy in June. It was laparoscopic procedure. I seemed to heal well. Took it easy until the Dr. Told me I can resume my normal activities and get back to work.. I started taking HRT, was feeling great. Until November, feeling a little edgy and crazy without a sex drive. My HRTwas switched up and feeling balanced. January comes and I am starting to feel extremely gassy. Thought I had a stomach bug, so I wait it out. Three weeks later, I go to a gastro Dr. They do a couple of tests, they say everything is normal gave me Levsin and said welcome to middle age ! Whatever THAT means! They diagnosed me with IBS. Which means they have no idea what s wrong with me. So they basically wrote me off. I am still experiencing gas and bloating and pain in my lower pelvic reason whenever I eat. The pain is near my belly button and lower. I am not a Dr, nor am I in the medical field. But could it be I have adhesions growing and pressing on my intestines? I have a terrible family history of cancer. My mother and father both died at 58. Mom of Ovarian and my Dad had pancreatic. I don t mean to sound dramatic, but I am really starting to worry that something is terribly wrong.. Any insight you may have, is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lisa

I had an ovarian cyst removed two weeks ago. The cyst was 20cm or 2 litres, and benign as far as I know. My question is: Is the burning sensation above the incision normal? The tender and burning area is swollen and looks like a fat roll the same length as the incision. The incision is horizontal and about 7 inches long. I also broke out in hives on different parts of my body two days ago--I don t know if this is relevant to the surgery. I am 5 1 , 120 llbs and 56 yrs old.
