Brief Answer:
The tiny air sacs in your lungs show changes due to smoking

Detailed Answer:
Hi Dcburgess2,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Your chest x ray shows that the spine is having a slight abnormal curvature to the right side. This is probably congenital and is not significant of any disease.

2. Emphysematous changes mean the tiny air sacs in the lungs showing loss of elasticity and this is probably related to your smoking over the years. Emphysematous changes might signify COPD and this is to be correlated by doing lung function tests.

3. In conclusion, your lungs are showing changes in small air sacs due to smoking and this requires you to discuss your symptoms with your doctor and do lung function test to know the various lung volumes and gas exchange in the lungs.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.
