Question: 58 yr old alcoholic male- headaches, fstigue, memory loss and confusion. Mri showed white "powder" around brain- no explanation

White patches or "powder" in brain MRI represent an abnormal finding that may be linked to the chronic ischemic changes, small vessels disease, multiple sclerosis, uncontrolled high blood pressure, etc.

It is necessary to provide the MRI report, or images in order to understand better your condition.

Also getting evaluated by a Neurologist is necessary.

Alcoholic encephalopathy also may result in such MRI findings, but only in advanced cases.

Still the MRI report is necessary to get a correct understanding.
