What Does Low Platelet Count Indicate?

Question: My Platelet counts range between 12K to 20K thru one Test and 3Lacs by another. whether Is it proper? Should I worry for anything? should I take any medicine?

Dear Sir,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that I think the report which is showing low platelet is wrong . As you dont give any history of bleeding tendencies I dont think it is significant enough .A peripheral smear can be done to see if there are any immature platelets . I think you can repeat it a month later .
