Need more information

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for writing through HCM.

I have read your query and understood your concerns, but I need some more information because depression can cause the similar problems and at your age depression is the most common psychiatric problem. Answer the following questions in similar manner:
1. For how long have you been suffering from this?
2. do you have sad feelings throughout the day?
3. do you have thoughts of ending your life?
4. Do all these symptoms started after some stress like family conflict, job stress, any major casualties in home, financial issues etc?
5. Do you have problems with your sleep?
6. Did you have any psychiatric problems in childhood?
7. Can you tell me how concentration difficulty affects your work and relationships?
8. Do you lose weight recently? If yes then how much?
9. Do you have any thyroid abnormality?

Answer all these questions. It will help me to give a opinion on your problems and possible solution.

Hope I have answered your query. I am waiting for reply.
Wish you good health.

Hi,

1. I've been like this for as long as I can recall. Easily distracted, but I used to be able to work through it. Now, I am paralyzed by it. Restless. I literally can not focus. I can't sit still. I'm bored when I should not be. Fidgety.

2. I"m not sad at all...really happy actually.
3. I've never had thoughts of ending my life.
4. I have the usual stresses of having two small kids and a demanding job. Nothing out of the ordinary.
5. I don't sleep much, but only because of my schedule. I can sleep when given the chance. Although, it takes a while sometimes to fall asleep.
6. I have no history of psychiatric problems..although, when I was a small child (about 30 years ago) a doctor prescribed me "coffee" and it actually made me settle down.
7. I am beyond restless. I can not sit through important meetings and find myself looking out the window, at the carpet, whatever...not able to listen. I physically can not sit still or concentrate on the work I need to do. I am a writer, and can not sit down to write. I am constantly late to appointments and when there my mind wanders. At home, I am so disorganized that it frustrates my husband: I have trouble doing the bills, organizing kids schedules, or our family vacations. My husband says I don't listen. ( and I really TRY TO!) I feel awful about it.
8. I have not. I am fit.
9. I do not.

Thanks so much!

Brief Answer:
These are attention deficit symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for writing again.

So, as per your reply I can say that you have mild depressive symptoms with attention deficit. To improve concentration and attention there are drugs like adderall, bupropion, reboxetine, atomoxetine etc.

In my opinion, you should consult a psychiatrist and ask for help. These symptoms will respond to adderall at best but it is a scheduled drug and under strict surveillance. It can be purchased only after prescription from a licensed doctor of your state. You can have some improvement with wellbutrin, reboxetine, atomxetine but adderall is most potent and effective. It depends upon your psychiatrist to decide what to give.

Apart from medications relaxation exercises like meditation, yoga will help. Following strict schedule is also necessary. Exercise for 20 minutes in the morning will be very helpful.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have further query then feel free to ask.
If you do not have further clarifications then close the discussion and rate the answer.
wish you good health.
