What Does Heavy Vaginal Discharge During Pregnancy Indicate?

Question: Hi doctor. I have an fungal infection and was prescribed by a doctor to use a vaginal pessary. I am 15 weeks pregnant. I feel a lot of discharge coming out like milky discharge. Something I'm walking and I feel like gush or a lump of discharge white coming out and since it's my first pregnancy I get really worried. Yesterday I felt abit of water coming out and I feel like scared what if it's the amniotic fluid? This morning went on the scale and my weight has dropped by a kilo and a half. So I'm worried I don't have any abdominal pains or anything or no bleeding just abit concerned I hope everything is ok. Last week I fell on my bum but I don't think that affected it as said by previous doctors. Pls help
Also the discharge has a smell. It's yellowish and has a smell. Sometimes it's milky white sometimes it's yellow and sometimes it's like watery. I'm worried if the water burst but I have no pains whatsoever I feel normal. No bleeding aswell.

Hi,

I understand your concerns.

This is unlikely to be anything serious other than fungal infection. This has to be treated the way you are doing it. You are under right treatment.

I dont think this is amniotic fluid. At 15 weeks there will not be noticeable amount if amniotic fluid to come out especially when there is no bleeding.

Episode of fall may not have lead to this. Dont worry about it.

This is infection and probably mixed fungal and bacterial. Continue the course of treatment and let me know how you feel after a week. You may need to change medicines if no improvement after a week.

I was just concerned if my baby is okay in terms of heartbeat etc after the fall. But my gyna here that's local said if anything would have happened to the baby it would be noticeable by now as it's been 10 days to the fall and I have No bleeding or nothing

Also at the moment I'm having pain on my right side could that be due to uterus growing? Don't know also I'm concerned as my weight since ydy has dropped by a kilo and half and it's quite strange as I was 61.9 and today it's showing as 60.4 so could anything have gone wrong? I was worried could be amniotic fluid that has leaked? Or something? Dno? Coz ydy it was watery discharge and yellowish at start then it was clear water but not too much. Today there's not been any water or anything

Heart beat seems to be normal.

It is normal to have weight fluctuations in this range as weight differs between machines.

This is not a problem.

I saw the attached picture. This seems to be discharge due to infection.

I don't see any reason to panic.

Thanks doctor. I'm having really bad pelvic pains on my right side is it anything serious? Or due to the growth of the baby?

Ok thanks doctor. I went to the local doctor and they gave this cream called gyno dakatarin. I don't know if it's good for me to use so I used it. I had suggested another doctor about discharge and pain on the right side and they said go for an ultrasound, but I feel I'm fine to go for an ultrasound as I guess the pain is only from the growing uterus. I want to u ask Allah Na kare( God forbid) if something did go wrong by some chance what would be the first signs? Would it be bleeding or? Just out of curiosity? Also my weight has really dropped 1,5 kilos I don't know if that's a concern or I must just not worry a lot.

Don't use any cream. This is just temporary pain.

This is not any symptom of worry. Just relax. You don't need any ultrasound scan.
