What Does Gallbladder Stone Measuring 17mm Indicate?

Question: My mother is having gall stone with 17mm calculus in neck region, and others with 4mm. 12cm long axis. is it dangerous?

An impacted stone in the neck of the Gall bladder will cause infection and may be gangrene

It is better you get the gall bladder removed

Laparoscopy is a safer alternative to the conventional open surgery and he patient can be back to work next day

There is no issue if the gall bladder is removed, a patient can lead a normal life

We preferably advice the patient to avoid fried meals, fermented and spicy meals

The postoperative period is usually uneventful
