Brief Answer:
neuropathy, needs assessment

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Numbness and other altered sensation is usually due to abnormal function of the nerves responsible for that particular area.
This is called neuropathy.

It can also affect eyesight.

Neuropathy can be central or peripheral. In central neuropathy, there is involvement of nerves from the brain or spinal cord.
In peripheral neuropathy, there is a problems with the nerves outside of the brain or spinal cord.

Stroke is one cause of neuropathy and would cause symptoms in the face, there are other causes but this would need to be ruled out by imaging.

He needs to be assessed by examination and imaging (a CT scan) would likely be needed as well.

Treatment would depend mostly on the cause found but there are medications that are used to decreased numbness and other symptoms of neuropathy such as amitriptyline or tegretol or lyrica or gabapentin

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
