What Does Endometrial Fundus On My Trans Vaginal Ultrasound Indicate?

default
Posted on Wed, 27 Aug 2014
Question: I had a transvaginal ultrasound earlier today due to an early miscarriage. The papers they gave me mention 2 small cysts in the fundal myometrium consistent with myometrial cysts and also calcification of the endometrial fundus. Neither the doctor or nurse said anything about this. Should I be concerned. I have no idea what this means. I am a 29 year old female. 5'2" and 130 lbs.

Brief Answer:
Would like them to provide more information onthis

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this early pregnancy loss. I have no idea what the cause is but your doctors should be able to follow through and provide possible answers to this. I very much hope it never repeats itself as no one wants to be dealing with this all the times.

I will say, request for clarifications. With endometrial calcification, it may explain why you had an early abortion. I will want someone to stand up and say whether they are just non significant observations or they think it could have an impact conception. This to a greater extend would depend on the extend of this.

With endometrial calcification, implantation of a fertilized egg on this area would not be very suitable and can result in abortions. Ask them specific questions on this report like do "they think this could explain the pregnancy loss or would have any impact on future pregnancies?". This would get them talking about this.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
