Brief Answer:
For how long has this been going on?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. Can you please tell me for how long this has been going on? If it happened just recently, then it may be caused by loose stools. For this, I will recommend that you drink much water to replace the losses as that is the main management of watery stools.

If this has been going on for long, then we must be concerned about possible fecal incontinence. This is common in elderly as the anal sphincter becomes weak and unable to close the opening allowing for digestive content to pass through involuntarily.

When was the last time you had your colonoscopy? This is recommended at most every 10years for persons of your age. If you haven't done so in a long time, this might be a god opportunity to consider doing so.

In all, exact cause and management depends on how long this has been. I will like to hear from you before making final conclusions on what the possible cause and treatment options are.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
