What Does Clear Stringy Discharge After Putting Copper IUD Indicate?
Question: I had a copper IUD put in in December of 2014. In March I began to experience copious amounts of an eggwhite-like mucousy stringy discharge. There is no color or odor. I saw my doctor who tested me for a bacterial infection and clamydia. Clamydia was negative as well as trich. The first time the bacterial test came back positive and I was given antibiotics. It did not help. Upon retesting there was no bacteria imbalance and the test was negative (perhaps the first was misread). I am still experiencing the discharge. It was suggested to me that the IUD can cause the discharge but it was not elaborated on and i am unable to info about that being a possible cause. Do you have any insight? Ive included a photo of the discharge im experiencing each time I use the restroom.
