What Does Circular Rash On Foot Indicate?

default
Posted on Mon, 21 Jul 2014
Question: Back in March 2014 I asked about a rash I had on my foot. I didn't send a photo of it because I thought it was going away. Well it didn't and now I have it on my back. It is circular like ringworm, but I understand it might be something else which also has the telltale ring. It itches like crazy, but I have put off going to a Dermatologist because of the time involved. I have been treating it w Tea Tree Oil which seems to help, but my husband doen't like the smell of it. What might you suggest?

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for query. I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
I colud read your past query which was concluded to be fungal.
Now the lesions as suggested by your history appears to be due to fungal infection.
Tea tree oil has antifungal action so likely it may be fungal.
It is better you attach photos of all present lesions to aid in further diagnosis.
You may require topical antifungal creams like Miconazole or terbinafine.
Once responds antifungal dusting powders like candid or absorb can be used. Avoid moisture or sweat retention at all these sites which is fertile place for them to thrive.
Thank you
Dr Bharatesh.
