Brief Answer: Poor blood supply. Carotid Endarterectomy or stent Detailed Answer: Hello, Brain chronic ischemia is due to Prolonged insufficient blood supply to brain tissues to meet the metabolic demand of brain. This is due to gradual decrease in blood supply to the brain that occurs with age. These occur because of a narrowing of the small arteries in the brain ( age related ). As you have carotid stenosis, it may be the cause for your chronic brain ischemia. You may need the anti platelet drugs. Please consult a neurologist. If it does not helps, then carotid endarterectomy or stenting may be necessary to avoid further damage to brain. Hope this helps. Please write back for further queries. Wishing you good health.
