What Does Blood In Urine When On Medication For Tonsillitis Indicate?

Question: Dear Doctor,
My daughter has Tonsillitis for 5 days and Doctor give her Brufin 600 she has skin disorder and the doctor inform us it is Tonsillitis Henoch-Schonlein Purpura after that I did the urine test and I found blood .(please find the attachments ). please let me know doctor is it really serious and what is effect on the kidny and is curable and what shall give her as medicine the doctor not give me any thing. pls advise iam really worry about her.

Blood in urine and skin rash is often seen in children following a streptococcal infection. It is known as post streptococcal GN. Here is how you should go about it

1. It is not a serious condition, most often things go back to normal within 8 weeks when treated properly
2. I would like you to get 24 hour urine protein, Renal function test, ASLO test, C3 and C4
3. Post streptococcal GN patients can develop hypertension, please make sure that hypertension is under good control
4. Approach a nephrologist as soon as possible
5. I recommend that she avoids meat, and follows a low salt diet ( avoids chips, pickle, etc)
6. watch out for swelling around the eyes and decrease in urine output
